Dr. Coppelson has supervised and delivered lectures to numerous physicians and attorneys regarding the SIBTF.

 

SIBTF was born out of World War II, as returning soldiers faced discrimination due to their pre-existing conditions.

 

Dr. Coppelson’s specialty—Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)—also originated during World War II. At the time, injured soldiers required coordinated care across neurology, internal medicine, and orthopedics. However, neurologists lacked expertise in orthopedics and internal medicine; internists lacked training in neurology and orthopedics; and orthopedists lacked knowledge of internal medicine and neurology.

 

As a result, the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation emerged to both coordinate and directly treat conditions across these specialties.

 

Accordingly, Dr. Coppelson is uniquely qualified to provide a single, comprehensive, and defensible report that integrates all relevant specialties.
